Improving Employability of Autistic Graduates in Europe
The IMAGE Project

Meet Alex Barry, Masters student in Amsterdam

Posted on 05/07/202003/03/2021

My name is Alex, and I’m currently working on my Masters in Global Health at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Previously I studied neuroscience and psychology, but after working in different facets of the mental health field back home, my interests turned to global mental health.

After learning about the employment outcomes of autistic adults and the goals of the IMAGE Project, I was thrilled to get the chance to work as a research assistant for it and learn from this team as they work to make an impact.

Currently, I’m researching how career advisors can facilitate more successful job interviews and thereby better help autistic graduates secure employment after university.

Outside of school and research, I am a devoted cat mom and am trying to pursue my hang-gliding beginner pilot’s license.
